I recently added this tool to my collection, and I must say, it has exceeded all my expectations. It is versatile, well-constructed and has made maintaining my garden a breeze, saving me both time and effort. Out of the box this cutter feels solid with contoured metal handles covered by a textured pattern that improves your grip when using. I have large hands and these settled well into my grip essentially allowing the meaty part of my palm to rest right on the contour to improve power. I had my wife try it out and she also felt comfortable with the cutter with a smaller set of hands. The tension on the blade is set to ensure a tight fit with no gap between the cutting blade and the back plate and the squeeze was uniform and smooth. Probably not the smoothest Ive ever used but well within what I would expect and no problems closing or returning to its full range which is accomplished via the return spring (they also provide an extra spring in the package). On to cutting - I tried this out on several size hardwood branches from about 1/8 inch which it sliced through with ease up to 5/8 inch. On the larger 5/8 inch branch I had to rotate the cutter back and forth to get the blade through the limb but that was more of a limit to my grip strength than anything to do with the blade which remained solid as a rock through the range of movements. The blade on these is sharp and no damage to the cutting surface in my simple tests. My main takeaway is this is all metal and it shows in the precision and build quality. I have many versions of equally expensive plastic cutters that get the job done initially but wear out over time. I really dont see that happening with these and overall would recommend.

So these are very sharp and these cut 1/2" rose branches like crazy. They do however look cheap. The screw head protrude out and are sharp. The spring comes off as easy as it prunes. Comes with and extra spring but nowhere to store it. The only question is...which spring will I lose 1st? The one installed or the spare?

I got these for my wife, she used them for the first time yesterday and says she loves them . They are very sharp and easy to use because they are also quite comfortable. She used them pretty much all day trimming this and that without experiencing any hand fatigue. This is a well made, high quality product, the safety latch was easy to operate and they come with an extra spring which is nice and will save a trip to the hardware store when it wears out or gets lost. This is not some cheap piece of junk, it looks like it will hold up for a long time. We have other gardening shears some costing up to twice as much as these shears with no discernable difference. For the price I would definitely recommend getting these shears.

I'm really glad I got these. I've used these for several rounds of pruning and trimming now, and while I can't speak to their long-term durability, they seem sturdy enough. And I hope they do last a long time because they're great to use. The handle is well cushioned, which is important for me, and important, too, is the fact that they can cut through branches thicker than any other pruner I've used can tackle. They're still small and agile enough for normal pruning, too, so can get inside of bushes, say, and make precise cuts. All in all I'm very happy with these, though with two small issues that leave me wanting to give four and a half stars: The little button on the handle that sort of slides into a catch to keep the pruners closed when not in use is nearly impossible to use. I don't know if this is a defect or a design flaw, but it's really frustrating. And can somebody please tell me why so many manufacturers seem to think green handles on garden tools is a good idea?! I usually don't buy tools with green handles because they're so easily mislaid, and almost didn't get these for that reason.
