I've been driving them with a drill on a really old porcelain bathtub to remove paint, even out patches, and grind in preparation of a finishing coat. They work nicely and so far they haven't lost any bristles. They all come in a box, handle with a glove, they are sharp. 7 pcs for $5.99 is worth it. Will see how long they last. I resist using wire wheel brushes because small bits of wire eventually tend to fly off and end up on the ground somewhere a barefoot person or dog can step on them. I've done that, and it's painful. BUT...sometimes a wire wheel brush is exactly what's needed for a job. When I'm working on cars, I use a wire wheel brush on EVERY rusty bolt to clean it up before putting it back on the car. Brass is best for this because it doesn't generate as much heat and doesn't scar the metal like steel wire wheel brushes. This is a very complete set and should met every need for wire brushing. Each brush in this set is made as well as any wire brush I've ever owned and should last a few years. The low price is an absolute bonus. Very good buy here.

Listen I'm not going to claim this is the worlds best wire brush set but it'll do the job. I didn't have any problems with the wires flying out immediately upon use. I've had some real cheap sets self destruct almost immediately so they at least have that going for them. They don't come across as super over engineered and heavy duty for what they are either. They seem about right for an item that's gonna get wear and tear and eventually be thrown away.

For the price this brush set is hard to beat, but as others have commented, the bristles are not all brass, but brass coated steel. If you're used to the more gentle abrasiveness of Dremel-type 1/8" all brass brushes, these are, well, steel brushes with a thin coating of brass on them...considerably more agressive than all-brass brushes. That said, they performed adequately...although they came crammed in a cardboard box, they didn't exhibit any wobble, and most importantly, none of the brushes have ejected wire fragments when in use...I use them at low to medium speeds. Needless to say, if you're using tools like these, absolutely wear eye protection. For the price, even though they're not all brass, they're still a good deal for the price...

This set was used right out the box. When arrived we used them on a furniture project that we couldn't get into the corners to remove paint. This set did the job super fast and super easy. They are very well made and very sharp so be careful while holding. They were able to cut through the caked om paint and the corners came clean within minutes. With the various size wheels you should be able to attack any job calling for a wire wheel. The center shaft is strong even if you bind the wheel.
