I enjoy power carving. I am trying to find more time to do larger projects because I enjoy shaping the wood. This is the first time I have used a disc like this. I have seen them online, and been intrigued, but I had never tried one before. Most of my discs come from Kutzall or Arbortech and they do not make this design. So, first off fit. I was not able to get this to fit on my Dewalt 4-1/2 inch grinder. I have encountered this problem before and lucky for me I have a couple of cordless Chinese knockoff grinder, and the disc fit perfectly on them. I believe it has to do with the Asian and European angle grinders have a larger spindle. The blade performed well. I tested it on a piece of 3/4" pallet wood, and then a scrap block of Bubinga. In both cases the carbide teeth chipped away at the wood and removed wood easily. I can see the design of this type of blade is for coarse wood removal; which is great (when you need large amounts of wood removal). I would not use this blade during the final stages of shaping. The disc is designed to be used on the flat edge of the disc. The teeth do not curve around the blade, so you won't have any wood removal along its side walls. I did notice wood shavings getting caught in the corners of the teeth. This did not seem to affect wood removal, but over time I wonder if it would be necessary to clean out. Overall, this is a great coarse removal disc. I enjoyed using it, and will definitely use it again. I can see the carbide teeth may be the one weakness in this type of discs design. If the weld is not secure, a tooth could fly off. However, I did not see any issues out of the box.

This disc does an outstanding job at carving wood. Almost too good. I was catching a lot because the blades are so sharp. I had to cut and at angle to have any sort of control while using it. For the price it really can't be beat. Great high quality product.
