These hose clamp type of repair kits are superior to ones with the screw down collars. These are solid looking brass. Didn't need six, but at this price, I have extras for future repairs at both houses.

I live on a small hose farm. The one thing that I constantly have to do is to repair the many hoses we use. This kit of 3 male plus 3 female hose ends is very useful to me. I've already used one of the male ends to replace the end of one of my smaller hoses where I have to cut off the last 3 feet due to leaks. This particular hose had a smaller diameter than the hose end so I had to heat the hose to stretch it over the male fitting. The clamps that come with this then tightened down the hose over the fitting, and no more leaks. These aluminum fittings are strong and solid. I feel that they will survive one of my horses stepping on them, and I have a Clydesdale. The screw-clamp adds to the stability and longevity of these hose ends. I will get a lot of future use out of these.

These couplers are made of an aluminum alloy and then anodized to make them look like brass. The aluminum seems to be sturdy and hard enough so the threads should last a long time. Just be cautious about leaving them connected to a brass spigot or galvanic action may weld them to the spigot. I am not crazy about the hose clamps as they are sharp and you have to be careful not to cut yourself when hooking up your hose. One tip about installing the female end - screw a male end into it before trying to insert the coupling into your hose or you may force out the washer causing the swivel portion to separate from the barbed portion. This is easy to fix, but why bother when my way saves you the time.
