Works well!

On the second day of having them in my plants they were almost full of knats.

How to put in soil

Cannot be pushed into the soil (I have a tree in a pot). Need to find pegs that I can use. I did use the wire twists and attach one to the trunk of the tree. Otherwise, can't figure out what the twists are for.

Helps minimize the population!

I have a population of mostly fungus gnats and a few male mealy bugs. My green house for my cannas has done exceptionally well in growing plants, mushrooms and gnats. Sadly on the last one. It definitely helps control the population during the winter months while the greenhouse is in full swing. It doesnt entirely eliminate the population because by the time it catches one, its probably already laid the next set of eggs in the soil. You need an insecticide to help with this part. So it would work great as a partner with something that kills eggs/larvae. My only dislike is that sometimes the sticky substance is on the part you need to hold to wedge it in the ground. Then it ends up on your fingers. And its not the easiest to wash off.

Messy

These were a bust for me. Theyre all stuck together so you get goopy trying to peel them apart. Besides the mess, they just didnt work well enough. I ended up buying a systemic product to prevent gnats.
